Terms of Service

Last updated: 7 October 2026

These terms apply to the website stelatranslate.com and to the Stela workspace. By using Stela you agree to them. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy.

1. About these terms

Stela ("we", "us") offers a workspace that helps sworn and certified translators prepare, read and translate official documents. "You" means the translator or organisation using Stela.

2. The service

Stela restores scans and photos of documents, reads them, proposes a translation in the layout of the original and marks every point that needs your attention. Stela is currently offered as an early-access service to a limited number of professionals. Features may change as the product develops.

3. Your account

4. Your professional responsibility

Stela is a tool that supports your work; it does not replace your professional judgement. You review every translation, decide on every marked point, and remain solely responsible for the translation you sign, certify and deliver, including its compliance with the rules that apply to sworn translation in the relevant country.

5. Your documents

6. Acceptable use

You will not use Stela to break the law, to process documents you have no right to process, to attempt to access other users' data, to disrupt or overload the service, or to copy, resell or reverse-engineer it.

7. Intellectual property

Stela, its software, design, name and logo belong to us. These terms give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the service for your professional work while your account is active.

8. Availability

We work to keep Stela available, fast and accurate, but during early access the service is provided as it is, may sometimes be interrupted for maintenance or improvement, and may change. Keep your own copies of the files you deliver to clients.

9. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as loss of income, clients or data, arising from the use of Stela. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the event. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for fraud or intentional misconduct.

10. Ending the service

You can stop using Stela at any time and ask us to delete your account and data. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. When an account is closed, we delete its data as described in the Privacy Policy.

11. Changes

We may update these terms as Stela develops. The date at the top shows the latest version; for important changes we will inform users of the workspace before they take effect.

12. Applicable law

These terms are governed by Belgian law. Disputes fall under the competent courts of Belgium, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection that may apply to you.
